John William Wilson Jr.
CHESTER, W.Va. — John William Wilson Jr., 75, of Chester, passed away February 24, 2021.
Born in St. Marys, W.Va. on November 11, 1945, he was the son of the late John and Pauline (Canner) Wilson.
Mr. Wilson served in the United States Army, during Vietnam. He formerly worked in the Production Line at Homer Laughlin China Company. John was an avid fisherman and he loved gardening and bird watching.
He was preceded in death by a son, William Wilson, two brothers, Bob and Ron Bryan; and a sister, Joyce Stanford.
Surviving are his wife, Lucinda “Jane” (Johnston) Wilson of Chester; a daughter, Tammy Wilson of Kansas; two step-sons, Robert (Stacy) Johnston of Ohio and Chris (Amy) Johnston of Newell; seven grandchildren;, Lauren, Morgan, Caitlin, Rayanne, Marcus, Aaron and Misty; seven great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Christopher, Delilah, Jayden, Nikole, Gabriel and Michael; and a brother Fred (Mary) Bryan of Chester.
Visitation is Sunday, February 28, 2021, from 2 p.m. until time of funeral service at 4 p.m., at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, WV. Military service will be conducted by the American Legion Post 121-VFW Post 6450 Honor Guard.
