Walter ‘Babe’ Gibas
NEW CUMBERLAND — Walter “Babe” Gibas, 84, of New Cumberland, passed away January 22, 2021.
Born in East Liverpool, Ohio on May 24, 1936, he was the son of the late Walter Gibas and Mary Gibas Anderson.
He worked for Globe Brick, Delivered Mail, Quaker State, and last working for Ergon.
Mr. Gibas graduated from Wells High School. He proudly served in the United States Army. He also was a member of the Chester-Newell Sportsmen Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-dad, Joseph Anderson.
Surviving are his wife, Linda (Ulbright) Gibas of New Cumberland; a daughter, Jennifer (David) Edgell of East Liverpool; and two grandchildren, Luke and Audrey.
Visitation is Monday, from 5-8p.m., at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, WV, where funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.
Interment will follow in Locust Hill Cemetery, Chester, WV. The American Legion Post 121-VFW Post 6450 Honor Guard will conduct military honors.
