Edward John ‘Ed’ Hazelet

Edward John “Ed” Hazelet, 63, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2020 at his home in East Liverpool, surrounded by his family.

Ed was born on May 15, 1957 in East Liverpool, OH, the son of the late Wilbert Hazelet and Mary Ellen Gray Tolley of East Liverpool, OH

Ed graduated from East Liverpool High School with the Class of 1975. He was employed for 34 years as a truck driver for Pitt-Ohio.

On January 9, 1988, Ed married the love of his life, Dianna Elkins. From their union they raised two children. His family became the center of his world.

Ed was known for his love of pleasure boating. He spent much of his time with family and friends enjoying river time at Babbs Island. He was also a trustee of the Ohio Valley Boat Club. If you could not find him on the river, he would be socializing with family and friends in his garage. His “Shine Shop” was his happy place.

Ed will be greatly missed by: his wife of 32 years, Dianna who survives him at home; his daughter, Kylee (Zach) Wilson, of East Liverpool; and his son, Thomas (Robyn) Muschweck also of East Liverpool; two brothers: Richard (Pegi) Hazelet, Sunbury, OH and Robert (Mary Beth) Hazelet of East Liverpool, OH; and sister Lori (Kenny) Butcher, Newell, WV. Also surviving are his two grandchildren whom he adored: Rylee Belle Thomas and Kendall Kay Wilson.

Visitation will be held at CARE Funeral Home and Cremation Specialists- Martin Chapel (formerly Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Home) in Calcutta Ohio on Sunday, October 18, 2020, from 1PM-5PM. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 19, 2020 at 10AM. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. In compliance with Ohio State Regulations and in connection to the COVID-19 public health crisis proper social distancing will be observed.
