Leah Lowther

WELLSVILLE — Leah Lowther, 17, of Wellsville, passed away due to a tragic house fire on, Tuesday, August 25, 2020.

Born on July 20, 2003, at Steubenville, Ohio, she was the daughter of Robert and Erica (Woolmaker) Lowther of Wellsville.

Leah was a student at Toronto High School. She was a former Cheerleader; she played for the school’s Basketball and Volleyball teams. She also danced for Lisa’s Dance Elite.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Dorothy and George Woolmaker, James and Lydia Channels; paternal grandparents, Marion and Barb Lowther and Robert and Ruth Boston; uncle, Herbie Lancaster; best friend, Noah Sapp.

In addition to her parents, surviving is her sister, Taylor Lowther of Wellsville; a brother, Austin Lowther of Wellsville; maternal grandparents, Lydia Lancaster of Medina and John Woolmaker of Toronto; and paternal grandparents, Joe and Cathy Lowther of New Cumberland.

Also surviving are uncles and aunts, John and Jackie Woolmaker, David and Patricia Woolmaker, Dustin Wilbert, Shawn Lowther, Lynda and Dan, Rose, Kevin and Megan Postlethwait, Katelyn Postlethwait and Kyle and Mandy Postlethwait.

Visitation is Tuesday, September 8, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, W.Va., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.

Burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Toronto, Ohio.

Memorial donations may be made to the funeral home, to assist the family with funeral expenses.
