James R. Tice, Jr.

NEWELL, W.Va. — James R. Tice, Jr., 60 of Newell, W.Va. passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the Beaver Medical Center.

Born June 23, 1960 in East Liverpool, he was the son of Mary (Monroe) Tice of Newell and the late James R. Tice, Sr.

Always a jokester, Jim enjoyed life to the fullest making many laugh and was the life of any party he attended. He loved making people laugh with his many impersonations and one-liners. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler/Pirate and WVU Mountaineer Fan.

Jim is survived by his pride and joy and only son, Austin Tice, as well as Austin’s mother Stacey Tice.

Jim is also survived by one of his greatest fans and supporters throughout his life, his mother, Mary E. Tice, along with his siblings Cindy (Jeff) Mooney of Parma, Ohio, Tammy (Joe) Ludovici of Chester, W.Va., Sue Ann (Jim) Culp of East Liverpool, Ohio, Mark (Becky) Tice of Chester, W.Va. and Jason (Crystal) Tice of Weirton, W.Va. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Sarah (Dan) Lee and Matt Mooney, Anthony and Jessie Ludovici, Cody, Tyler and Alyssa Culp, Hanna, Graci and Zane Tice; and Chesney and Paisley Tice, as well as four great-nieces and nephews, Elise and Jacob Lee and Callie and Carli Culp.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Nixon Funeral Home in Newell, W,Va., where funeral services will take place on Thursday, July 30 at 11 a.m. Chapel services will take place at Locust Hill Cemetery in Chester, W.Va. Feel free to honor Jim by wearing your favorite Pittsburgh Steeler/Pirate or WVU Mountaineer attire during viewing hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to Nixon Funeral Home to assist with the funeral expenses.
