Ruth A. Coleman Carter

EAST LIVERPOOL — Ruth A. Coleman Carter, 83, died peacefully Feb. 11, 2020 at Calcutta Health Care Center with her family present.

Ruth was born May 29, 1936 in East Liverpool, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Grace Kays Coleman.

Ruth lived all her life in this area graduating from East Liverpool High School and then working as a clerk for the Common Pleas Court Bureau of Support. She was very active in her church, the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in East Liverpool. She was a member of the Women’s Bible Study, a leader in the Children’s Youth Group and an active participant in Sunday School Class. Ruth was also a member of the Hill and Dell Club.

Ruth will be missed greatly by her daughter, Carolyn (Brad) Allison of East Liverpool; two granddaughters, Kaylea and Karla Allison of East Liverpool; two sisters, Emma Jean Giuliana of Wellsville and Nancy Cain of Utah.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Jay A. Carter Jr., on July 25, 2012; three brothers, Richard, Edgar and Paul Coleman, and four sisters, Ellen Grimes, Ella Mae Menough, Betty Hoyt, and Alice Coleman.

A private funeral service will be held at the Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home in Salineville, Ohio.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
