Wilbur Harold ‘Snook’ Snider, Jr.

EAST LIVERPOOL — Wilbur Harold “Snook” Snider, Jr., 69, of New Cumberland, W.Va. passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019 suddenly at East Liverpool City Hospital.

He was born Nov. 5, 1950 in Steubenville, Ohio a son of Betty J. (Armour) Snider McAtee of Chester, W.Va.

Snook was retired from ArcelorMittal with 43 years of service as an Operator in the BOP and worked in the Tin Mill lab. He was a member of the Weirton Steel 25 year Club and the VFW Post 3526 Auxiliary.

He was preceded in death by his brother and sister in law Stanley E. Snider and Marilyn Snider.

Surviving are his mother, Betty J. (Armour) Snider McAtee of Chester, W.Va.; his wife, Vicky (McAvoy) Snider at home, two sons, Dirk Snider of New Cumberland, W.Va. and Drew (Theresa) Snider of Morgantown, W.Va.; nephew, Donald (Janice) Snider of Pittsburgh, Pa., niece, Pamela (David) Smotzer of Pittsburgh, Pa. and his three beloved grandchildren Max, Cruz and Sydney.

Friends will be received Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Turley Funeral Home.

Services will be there Monday, Dec. 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Jeeson Stephan as Celebrant. Interment will follow in the New Cumberland Cemetery.
