STEUBENVILLE — John Edward Vittek, 80, of Steubenville (Pleasant Hill), Ohio passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019.
He was born June 2, 1939 in Wellsburg, W.Va, the son of the late John and Mary Elizabeth (Wilson) Vittek.
He was a member of the Bell Chapel United Methodist Church of Pleasant Hill; was a 1957 graduate of Wellsburg High School; had served his country in the U.S. Army stationed in Burnkastle, Germany in the 13th Engineers Battalion Eighth Division APO and was retired from the former Matlack Tank Lines Corporation of New Martinsville, W.Va.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Jane (Monigold) Vittek; and a brother, Michael Vittek of Gilbertsville, Ky.
Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m.. Sunday, Nov. 17 at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto. Additional visitation will be held 11 a.m. – 12 noon Monday, Nov. 18 at the Bell Chapel United Methodist Church, 3419 State Route 213, Steubenville (Pleasant Hill) where services will be held at 12 noon with the Reverend Jeff Proya officiating. Interment will follow at the Center Chapel Union Cemetery.
There will be military honors presented by the Toronto American Legion Honor Guard.
