Rose Testa Lounder

Mt. LEBANON, Pa. — Rose Testa Lounder, 97, formerly of Main Street, Burgettstown, Pa., passed away peacefully with her loving daughters by her side on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019, in her daughter’s home in Mt. Lebanon, where she has lived since her husband’s passing in 2006.

Born on May 31,1922, in Langeloth, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Maria Fecondo Testa. A graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown, she was a homemaker and caregiver to her son, Edward Jr. Rose’s greatest joy was her family. She will be remembered for always having a smile on her face and bringing a smile to others.

Mrs. Lounder was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Burgettstown where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. She was also a member of the Burgettstown Junior Women’s Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward F. Lounder Sr., whom she married on June 27, 1944, and passed away on Nov. 2, 2006; her son, Edward F. Lounder Jr.; her sister, Margaret Grossi and her brother, Joseph Testa.

She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Clark of New Cumberland,W.Va., and Janice Spicher of Mt. Lebanon, Pa. (fiance Bob Salko). Also surviving Mrs. Lounder are her grandchildren, Jason Pitcock and Krista Carson, both of New Cumberland, and great-grandchildren, Madaisha Pitcock of Nashville, Tenn. and Kiera and Nathan Carson of New Cumberland. She also leaves behind her dear friend and caregiver Elizabeth Atarri.

Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, 2019 in the Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown where the Christian Mother’s will hold a Rosary Service at 2:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019 in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1109 Main Street, Burgettstown, with the Rev. Zach Galiyasas, Celebrant. She will be laid to rest beside her husband and son in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
