Rosemary K. Souturas

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Former East Liverpool resident Rosemary K. Souturas, 97, died Sunday, June 23, 2019 at home in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Born Sept. 13, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Hanlon) Dawson in East Liverpool. She married William (Bill) Souturas on Dec. 24, 1943. They had two children, Carol and Jim who were raised in Poland, Ohio. She was a wife, mother and homemaker. She also had several jobs during her working days. Most enjoyable was at COBE Laboratories in Denver, Colo. where she became a trainer.

She loved dancing, playing cards and was very talented at cross-stitch and crocheting. She was an active person far into her retirement years. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. During these years, she also enjoyed several trips to Florida, Texas, Virginia and California. She was devoted to her family and loved dearly by them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bill, sister Dorothy and brothers Harry, Joe and Jack.

Survivors include daughter Carol (Jerry) Blevins of Highland, Kan.; son Jim (Linda) Souturas of Colorado Springs; granddaughters Nicole Strouts of Aurora, Colo,; and Kathy (Mike) Bean of Frisco, Texas; grandson Steven (Cheri) Prachniak of Corinth, Texas; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; nephews and nieces.

Cremation was handled by Mountain View Mortuary and the ashes will be placed in a columbarium at Mount St. Francis of Assisi in Colorado Springs, at 3 p.m. July 27, 2019. There will be a mass and prayers by Father Kenneth of the St. Francis of Assisi parish.

Charitable contributions can be made in memory of Rosemary to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
