Josephine ‘Jo’ Laughlin
GEORGETOWN, Pa. — Josephine “Jo” Laughlin, 79, of Georgetown (Greene Township), died peacefully Tuesday evening, Sept. 4, 2018, in Orchards at Foxcrest, Chester, W.Va., with her entire family at her side.
Born Dec. 20, 1938, in Newell, W.Va., the last surviving child born to the late Floyd and Helen Marie (Cebula) Geer, Jo along with her beloved husband were owners and operators of Laughlin’s Restaurant for 46 years in Georgetown, retiring in 2014. She was a 1956 graduate of Wells High.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mariann Arnold; a brother, Jake Geer; and two sisters, Annie Dennis and Elizabeth Carr.
Surviving are her beloved husband, William A. Laughlin; her children and spouses: William A. Jr. and Kimberly Laughlin, Georgetown; Terri Jo Miller, New Cumberland, W.Va.; Scott A. Laughlin, Hookstown, Pa.; Craig Arnold, Georgetown; and Keith English, Chester; grandmother of seven: Amber and Ashley Laughlin, James Miller, Trisha Lewis, and Pete, Jonathan and Nicole English; also great-grandmother of seven.
Family and friends are welcome to call at the McConnell Funeral Home, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, Pa. 15050, Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Wilmer J. Olszewski, of Hookstown Free Methodist Church, officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.
