LIBSON — A Stark County man is facing felony charges for allegedly having a loaded handgun in his possession at the scene of an auto accident where it was determined he was intoxicated on state Route 172 on Dec. 6. Joseph M. Oprean, 36, Waynesburg is charged with fifth-degree felony improper handling of firearms, OVI and reasonable control. A preliminary hearing is set Jan. 26 in Columbiana County Municipal Court.

Crystal R. Hodkinson, 34, Lundy Avenue, Salem, was bound over to common pleas for felony-five receiving stolen property and misdemeanor use or possession of drugs. Hodkinson allegedly was found to be in possession of a reported stolen registration sticker and a bag used to store illegal drugs during a traffic stop on Nov. 28 in Salem.

Jesse M. Jackson, 45, state Route 154, Lisbon, was fined $150 and sentenced to 17 days in jail for disorderly conduct amended from theft for signing and taking a package addressed to another guest at a motel in East Liverpool on Aug. 19.

A pretrial hearing was set March 3 for Rondald Eugene Keener II,35, Riley Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with reasonable control.

A pretrial hearing was set March 9 for Richard Louth Bruzda, 45, Grove City, Pa., charged with engaging in prostitution, possessing criminal tools and drug paraphernalia. Bruzda allegedly agreed to exchange methamphetamine and currency through Cash App for sexual activity with an undercover agent via his cell phone 6 and then traveled to Unity to do so on or about Dec. 6.

Taylor Scott Snyder, 35, North Market Street, East Palestine, charged with domestic violence and unlawful restraint for allegedly restraining and assaulting a woman at his residence on Dec. 6. According to the report, officers observed bruises and swelling to the victim’s face and redness and swelling of Snyder’s knuckles.

A pretrial hearing was set March 2 for Christy Bohn, 34, Benton Road, Salem, charged with unauthorized use of a plate, driving under suspension and texting while driving.

Robert Wade Blakely, 41, Stark, was fined $75 for assured distance.

A pretrial hearing was set Jan. 12 for Logan J. Stancato, 27, Harding Avenue, Salem, charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly flagging down motorists on Nov. 22 in Perry Township to report a deceased person at his house. Officers conducted a welfare check on Blakley who advised he had taken fentanyl. He was taken to a local hospital by EMS and treated for an overdose.

A pretrial hearing was set March 3 for Alayna N. Risbeck, 23, Bell School Road, East Liverpool, charged with assault for allegedly punching another woman at a bar in Lisbon on Nov. 29.

Charges of driving under suspension were dismissed against Cody A. Staufeneger, 32, Morris Road, Lisbon.

Jamila Vania Cameron, 28, Lincoln Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $200 for obstructing official business. Cameron lied to officers about the whereabouts of another person’ s cellphone when officers were executing a search warrant at her home for electronic devices during an investigation into threats being directed at a city nursing home on Nov. 6.

A pretrial hearing was set March 2 for Elias Timothy Eberly, 38, Canton, charged with OVI, OVI refusal and reasonable control.

A pretrial hearing was set Dec.15 for Marcus Zane Reed, 23, Nittany Drive, Summitville, charged with failure to comply, unauthorized use of a plate, driving under suspension,loud exhaust, reckless driving, open container and unsafe vehicle. Reed allegedly fled a welfare check/traffic stop after it was reported Reed was passed out in his vehicle. He then led police on a high-speed chase that ended when Reed crashed into an embankment.

Travis Michael Bragg, 27, East Fifth Street, Salem, was fined $200 for speed and driving under suspension.

A pretrial hearing was set March 10 for Tammy Joe Manley, 27, Riley Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with two counts of endangering children. Manley allegedly came to the East Liverpool Giant Eagle on Nov. 29 with two toddlers who were dressed in inadequate clothing with no socks or shoes despite freezing temperatures outside.

Georgia Grace Wood, 18, North Park Circle East Palestine, was fined $75 for equipment violation, amended from speed.

Charges of litter and storage of furniture were dismissed against Eugene J. Rodgers, Jr., 30, Center Street, East Liverpool.

A pretrial hearing was set March 3 for Christina N. Hissam, no age given, Price Street, East Liverpool, charged with six counts of failing to file city income tax,

Bryan Lee Martin, Jr., 33, state Route 30, Lisbon was fined $150 for failing to stop a school bus.

A pretrial was set Dec. 22 for Michael A. Williams, 32, Campground Road, Wellsville, charged with domestic violence for allegedly grabbing a woman known to him by the arm at the Calcutta Walmart during a verbal argument. Employees had to separate the two.

A pretrial hearing was set Feb. 23 for Ryan Scott Weldon, 31, East Liverpool Road, Lisbon, charged with driving under suspension/license forfeiture,OVI and reasonable control.

Samantha Lee Reeves, 31, Uniontown, was fined $150 for speed.

Nathaniel R. Brendlinger, 20, West Eighth Street, Salem, was fined $350 for criminal damaging for spray-painting profanities on a street in front of his home on Sept. 18.

Christina M. Seybert, 39, Crestview Road, New Waterford, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.

Jonathan D. Thompson, 30, South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was fined $920 and sentenced to 90 days in jail with 87 suspended and credit for three days served, 20 hours of community service, two years of probation and a one-year license suspension for OVI and left of center.

Grand Jury

LISBON — A man accused of assisting another person in the theft of a motor vehicle early this year was served recently with a secret indictment issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury.

Willie Lashurn Hill Jr., 19, Struthers, was charged with two counts of complicity in the commission of an offense, both fourth-degree felonies, and receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly aiding and abetting another in the theft of a motor vehicle and for possessing a stolen license plate on Jan. 26 this year.

Also served with a secret indictment was Anthony E. Barbero, 45, Brookfield, charged with third-degree felony tampering with evidence, fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs and misdemeanor possession of drugs for allegedly tampering with evidence and possessing the drugs bromazolam and testosterone on May 1 this year.
