Sheriff’s Office

— Deputies responded at 1:41 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a medical call with a possible disturbance on Malone Road, Washington Township. While en route, it was determined the situation was only a disturbance. Deputies arrived and spoke with all residents, who advised there was an argument only and the situation was now under control.

— A disturbance was reported in the area of the Y-Inn on Sprucevale Road, Middleton Township at 11:35 p.m. Monday. The report said a white Ford F-250 driven by an older male and a small blue car with an unknown occupant sped off from the scene after the people could be heard arguing and then what sounded like two gunshots. Deputies looked for the vehicles while en route and checked the area, with no contact with either vehicle. Deputies continued to check the area of the Y-Inn for any evidence of the reported possible gun play, with nothing located.

— Deputies were dispatched at 4:22 a.m. Sunday to Roberts Road, Fairfield Township, for a welfare check that was transferred to the sheriff’s office from the Columbiana Police Department. All parties advised deputies that the male half was going through a manic episode and he denied self harm and harm to others. Deputies left with no further incident.

Highway Patrol

— No citations have been issued as a result of a two-vehicle crash at 1:55 p.m. March 3 in Salem Township. Mary Wise, of state Route 344 in Salem, was westbound on state Route 45 and struck a vehicle belonging to Pauline McKarns, of Campbell Road in Hanoverton, as she pulled out from a stop sign on Salem Grange Road. Wise’s vehicle then traveled off the right side of the road and over an embankment. Both drivers were transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

— Kara Adams, of Strader Road in East Liverpool, was not cited as a result of a single vehicle crash in Elkrun Township. At 1:33 p.m. Feb. 27, Adams was eastbound on state Route 30 when she drove off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail due to a medical issue.

— Ryder Rotaru, of Youngstown, was cited at 9:26 p.m. Feb. 26 in Elkrun Township for failure to control, after traveling off the right side of the road while driving on state Route 11 and hitting a guardrail.

— Anna Yonker, of Alice Street in East Palestine, was cited at 7:35 p.m. Feb. 24 for failure to control in Fairfield Township. Yonker was eastbound on Heck Road when she failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the right side of the road, struck a traffic sign, re-entered the road, went off the left side and struck a ditch.
