LISBON — A preliminary hearing was set Dec. 9 in Columbiana County Municipal Court for a Wellsville woman who faces a second-degree felony burglary charge for allegedly breaking into a man’s home while he was in the hospital receiving cancer treatment.
According to the arrest affidavit, Olivia Redman, 19, Clark Ave., along with two male accomplices, entered a home on East Fifth Street in East Liverpool on Nov. 22 with the intent to rob the property owner who they knew was hospitalized at the time. Redman also faces misdemeanor theft and assault charges for a prior incident that took place at Lena’s Lounge in East Liverpool on Sept. 16. Redman and another female allegedly assaulted a man at the bar on St. Clair Avenue. A video of the incident shows the women shoving and hitting the man and Redman can be seen picking up a $100 bill that fell from the man’s pocket during the altercation. Redman faces an additional charge of drug paraphernalia after officers found her to be in possession of a crack pipe on April 30. Officers were questioning Redman as part of an investigation involving another assault when the pipe was found in a cigarette pack in Redman’s back pocket.
A preliminary hearing was set Dec. 9 for Zachary Hutchison, 40, Youngstown, charged with third-degree harassment of an inmate and fourth-degree felony assault on a peace officer, obstructing official business and resisting arrest. Officers initiated a traffic stop on Hutchison after a bulletin for a silver honda with tires strapped to the hood was issued on Nov. 29. Hutchison was spotted driving the vehicle and officers were advised Hutchison was wanted on three outstanding warrants. Officers pulled over Hutchison on North Ellsworth Avenue in Goshen Township and he allegedly had to be physically removed from the vehicle. Hutchison reportedly resisted by refusing to show officers his hands, kicking and biting the hand of one officer, causing injury to the officer’s index finger and thumb.
A preliminary hearing was set for Howard Babik, 54, Adams Road, Rogers, charged with Felony 2 discharging a fireman and weapons while intoxicated. Babik allegedly fired five rounds of a 9mm handgun into a residence on Adams Road on Nov. 30, shooting through a window and striking the refrigerator. Babik left the scene and later returned where officers could smell alcohol on his breath.
A pretrial hearing was set Feb. 11 for Roni Kroeson, 30, Fredericktown Clarkson Road, Negley, charged with obstructing official business. Kroseon was a passenger in a car during a traffic stop on state Route 11 on Nov. 24. The driver was charged and arrested for OVI and when officers told Kroeson she would have to call for a ride, she allegedly locked herself in the vehicle. Officers warned Kroseon several times that if she didn’t unlock the doors and hand over the keys she would be arrested. Kroeson reportedly refused to comply and became aggressive before officers placed her under arrest.
Wesley Sites, 47, Rose Drive, Lisbon was fined $150 for disorderly conduct amended from theft. He was also ordered to pay $7 in restitution to the Lisbon Dollar General Store within 30 days. Sites only scanned one box of cereal but left the store with two boxes on Aug. 12.
Paul Morgan, 60, Lisbon Street, Minerva, was fined $500 and sentenced to 180 days in jail suspended and 20 hours of community service for violation of protective order. He was also placed on two years probation. Morgan left a voicemail message for the protected party on May 7 while officers were investigating another reported violation.
Crystal Shreve, 45, Florence Street, East Liverpool, was fined $500 and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 175 suspended for theft and possession of criminal tools. Shreve was also placed on two years probation, received 80 hours of community service and was ordered to stay out of Walmart in Calcutta. Shreve placed 17 items worth $100 in her personal bags and left the store without paying for them on July 9.
John Weigard, 46, Akron, was fined $100 and sentenced to 30 days in jail suspended, one year of probation and 20 hours of community service for disorderly conduct, amended from engaging in prostitution. A charge of possessing criminal tools was dismissed. Weigard agreed to exchange $240 for sexual activity during communications with an undercover agent and traveled to Salem to do so on July 18.
Gregory Workman, 54, Niles, was fined $100 and sentenced to 30 days in jail suspended, two years of probation and 20 hours of community service for disorderly conduct, amended from engaging in prostitution. A charge of possessing criminal tools was dismissed. Workman agreed to exchange $100 for sexual activity during communications with an undercover agent and traveled to East Palestine to do so on April 8.
A pretrial hearing was set Feb. 10 for Sarah Eddy, 43, Seventh Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with assault. Eddy allegedly got into an altercation with another female on Sept. 13 on Market Street in East Liverpool. When officers arrived, the other female advised that Eddy had struck her on the side of the face and neck area. The victim had injuries consistent with her statement.
A pretrial hearing was set March 13 for Ashley Hill, 29, West Wilson Street, charged with possession of a drug instrument. Hill allegedly was found to be in possession of a hypodermic needle after police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Salem. The caller advised that Hill was breaking things and was potentially under the influence of narcotics. After she was arrested, a second needle was found inside Hill’s bra during a search at the station.
A pretrial hearing was set March 11 for Randall Culler, 45, Bell Road, Lisbon, charged with resisting arrest, obstructing official business, and two counts of violating a protective order. Officers attempted to serve Culler with an arrest warrant on Nov. 30 but Culler allegedly fled on foot. He was later found hiding in the woods where he reportedly refused to show officers his hands and continued to reach into his pockets before being handcuffed by officers.
A pretrial hearing was set Feb. 13 for Jordan Scheller, 23, Elm Street, Columbana, charged with OVI and marked lanes.
A pretrial hearing was set March 13 for Nashua Jenkins, 27, Kent, charged with driving under suspension and a turn signal violation.
A pretrial hearing was set March 13 for Finton Ahearn, 21, Dyer, Indiana, charged with speed.
A pretrial hearing was set for Genny Dempsey, 38, Mingo Junction, charged with speed.
Elwood Williams, 26, Duke Vodrey Road, East Liverpool, was fined $200 and sentenced to 30 days in jail with 27 suspended and 40 hours of community service for driving under a points suspension.
A pretrial hearing was set March 13 for Samuel Smith, 28, West State Street, Salem, charged with failure to yield.
A pretrial hearing was set Feb. 6 for Carl Gooding, 43, Putnam Street, East Liverpool, charged with drug paraphernalia and criminal damaging. Gooding allegedly broke a car window in East Liverpool on Nov. 23 over a dispute involving a found $20 bill. A meth pipe was found in his possession during the investigation.
Rebecca Ward, 48, Carole Drive, Salem was fined $50 for driving under suspension.
Jacob Graham, 39, Fifth Street, Beloit, was fined $300 and sentenced to three days in jail for driving under suspension.
A pretrial hearing was set Feb. 11 for Hunter Willis, 21, McCann Road, Salem, charged with OVI and loud exhaust.
A pretrial hearing was set Feb. 10 for Eric Wiley, 44, Stagecoach Road, East Liverpool, charged with driving under suspension restriction and improper/expired registration.
Christopher Helsel, 30, Canfield, was fined $100 for unsafe vehicle, amended from speed.

Grand Jury
LISBON — Thomas Summers, 45, Haiti Road, Salineville, was served Sunday with two separate secret indictments issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury for allegedly failing to pay child support and open burning or dumping.
The charges against him included two counts of nonsupport of dependents, a fifth-degree felony, and open burning or open dumping of solid waste, which is an unclassified felony.
According to the indictment, Summers allegedly did recklessly dispose of solid waste by open burning or open dumping on April 2, 2023 and failed to pay child support for two children from Oct. 3, 2021 to Oct. 1, 2023.
