Municipal

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a case against Jonathan M. Collins, 47, Norwalk, was bound over to the county grand jury for two third-degree felonies of attempted pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person and compelling prostitution, fourth-degree felony attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, and fifth-degree felonies of importuning and possessing criminal tools.

According to affidavits filed by an agent with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, Collins allegedly requested sexual conduct from an agent he believed to be a 15-year-old girl for an agreed upon price of $160 and also allegedly requested to take pictures and videos of himself and the girl during sex, traveling to Salem on Aug. 22 for the meeting. The phone used to make the arrangements was in his possession when he was met by law enforcement at the scene.

A preliminary hearing was set Sept. 5 for Justin Michael Gamble, 32, Bates Street, East Liverpool, charged with fifth-degree felonies of strangulation and domestic violence for allegedly hitting a woman, choking her and breaking her car window during a domestic on Aug. 28 in East Liverpool.

A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set Sept. 5 for Rachael Butler, 60, Chagrin Falls, charged with third-degree felony failure to comply and misdemeanor speeding for allegedly fleeing from Salem Police attempting a traffic stop on Aug. 28, stopping at the Salem Walmart parking lot, then fleeing again south on Cunningham, then westbound on state Route 344 back into the city. The pursuit was terminated after she traveled back out of the city. She was found with a flat tire by a Portage County agency, then charged by Salem officers.

A pretrial was set Sept. 5 for Colton Lee Wade, 38, Sardis, charged with assault and menacing for allegedly removing his chewing tobacco from his mouth and throwing it at another man on Aug. 27 in East Liverpool, hitting him in the face with it, and also making threats to the man, saying he was going to kill him.

A pretrial was set Nov. 26 for Victoria Rakel Redman, 28, Sprucevale Road, Rogers, charged with domestic violence and theft for allegedly scratching a man in the face during a domestic on May 22 in East Liverpool and grabbing a man’s wallet and fleeing on April 30 in East Liverpool. The wallet contained $800.

Michael David Malone, 34, Youngstown, was fined $250 and given a suspended 60-day jail term for soliciting. A charge of possessing criminal tools was dismissed. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and an online prostitution prevention course. Malone was accused of posting an ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual conduct with an undercover agent posing as a purchaser of sex in exchange for $100, then traveling to Salem on June 28 for the meeting with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession. The agent affidavit noted that the defendant arrived at the meeting location with a 17-year-old male passenger.

A pretrial was set Sept. 9 for Roman Dariychuk, 37, McCallister Road, Lisbon, charged with obstructing official business and two counts of disorderly conduct for allegedly blocking cars from being able to pass at the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and Metz Road on Aug. 28 and screaming at people in a driveway, where Columbiana police found him. He ran away from police and was found in a back yard on Fairfield Avenue lying on the ground and was placed into custody after a brief struggle. He’s also facing an extradition hearing on Sept. 9 as a fugitive from justice from Pennsylvania with an active warrant for his arrest through Philadelphia City Police and the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

Audrea Farnsworth, 48, West Seventh Street, East Liverpool, was fined $250 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 80 days suspended, leaving a balance of 10 days to serve in jail for criminal damaging or endangerment. She was ordered to pay $172.71 to the victim and was given permission to buy out 20 hours community service. Farnsworth threw a rock breaking an upstairs window of a home in East Liverpool on April 24.

David Barton, 37, Duke Vodrey Road, East Liverpool, was fined $150 and sentenced to two days in jail, with credit for two days served, for theft for stealing electricity from a neighbor in 2018.

Clifford Smith Jr., 36, Columbus, was fined $100 for disorderly conduct amended from obstructing official business. A charge of improper/expired registration was dismissed. During a traffic stop on Nov. 23, 2023 in Columbiana, Smith refused to turn over his phone after being ordered multiple times to turn it over during the investigation. As part of the judgment, Columbiana Police Department was to release all his personal property back to Smith, including a computer, two cell phones and documents unless the items were contraband or evidence in another matter.

A status conference hearing was set Nov. 5 for David Kane, 39, West Ninth Street, East Liverpool, charged with drug paraphernalia for having a silver pipe with burnt Chore Boy in his pocket during a traffic stop on Feb. 16 in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set Dec. 5 for Chris Baldelli, 57, Bellaire, charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct for allegedly walking into a business in Columbiana on Aug. 24 and making employees uncomfortable by what he was saying, then going to another business and making employees and customers uncomfortable, yelling at people and refusing to leave. He started walking away when police arrived.

Joshua Crooms, 34, North Beaver Street, Lisbon, was fined $25 for disorderly conduct for a disorderly incident in Lisbon on Aug. 23.

A pretrial was set Nov. 4 for James Riley, 33, Youngstown, charged with restricted tinted glass, operating a vehicle impaired first offense and speeding.

Dakota Stockman, 30, 18th Street, Wellsville, was fined $250 for no valid license.

A probation violation hearing was set Sept. 5 for Matthew Ainsworth, 36, state Route 9, Kensington, for a 2022 case of OVI first offense and improper passing.

A pretrial was set Nov. 4 for Racheal Schon, 40, Wilbert Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with no valid license and loud exhaust.

A pretrial was set Dec. 2 for Rebecca Ward, 48, Carole Drive, Salem, charged with driving under suspension.

Kerstin Mudery, 39, Boardman, was fined $150 for equipment violation, amended from speeding.

Craig Weber, 49, New Cumberland, W.Va., was fined $35 for speeding.

Joshua Gomersall, 30, Augusta, Ga., was fined $200 for driving under suspension.

Brian Buckley, 31, Boardman, was fined $25 for driving under suspension.

Alivia Kloehn, 24, Pittsburgh, Pa., was fined $50 for unsafe vehicle amended from speeding.

Tonia Gearin, 43, West Washington Street, Lisbon, was fined $75 for driving under suspension.

Grand Jury

LISBON — A defendant who failed to appear in court after being released on his own recognizance for a drug case was served recently for two felony counts issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury.

Dorian Rashad Anderson, 35, last known address Pennsylvania Avenue, East Liverpool, was served Wednesday with the indictment from 2022 for two counts of failure to appear as required by recognizance, a fourth-degree felony.

The dates listed on the indictment when Anderson allegedly failed to appear were March 19, 2021 and May 6, 2022. Anderson had an indictment issued in 2019 for possession of cocaine and twice had bench warrants issued after failing to show up for hearings.

Also served with secret indictments were:

— Billie Thompson, 42, Canfield, possession of LSD and aggravated possession of drugs, both fifth-degree felonies, for allegedly possessing LSD and methamphetamine on July 18, 2023.

— Devin Lodge, 23, old state Route 558, Salem, fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs and misdemeanor illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on June 24, 2023.

— Charles Slocum, 32, Brookfield Avenue, Lisbon, aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on June 10, 2023.
