LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary hearing was set April 24 for Husam Jamal Abdelaziz, 24, Youngstown, charged with third-degree felony compelling prostitution and fifth-degree felonies of attempted and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad of an adult mother trafficking her 15-year-old daughter on a known prostitution website, arranging for sexual activity with the teen in exchange for $140 and arriving in East Palestine on April 15 for the meeting.

A preliminary hearing was set April 24 for Michael Dennison, 28, Morris Avenue, Salem, charged with third-degree felony compelling prostitution, fourth-degree felony attempted, fifth-degree felony possessing criminal tools and misdemeanor engaging in prostitution and speeding for allegedly responding to an undercover ad of an adult mother trafficking her 15-year-old daughter on a known prostitution website, arranging for sexual activity with both females in exchange for $120 and arriving in East Palestine on April 16 for the meeting.

A preliminary hearing was set April 24 for Kristopher Simpson, 28, Continental Drive, Salem, charged with fourth-degree felony domestic violence for allegedly physically assaulting a pregnant woman on April 10 in Salem.

A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set April 24 for Charles Bell II, 19, Blakely Street, East Liverpool, charged with third-degree felony burglary and two counts of misdemeanor domestic violence for allegedly throwing a woman around while holding a child and throwing her belongings toward the door during an argument April 15 in East Liverpool. On April 7, he was accused of breaking the front window of an East Liverpool residence and entering the occupied home to get his video game system and soliciting his new girlfriend to assault the woman while inside the residence.

An assault case against Neil James Cooley, 46, Wexford, Pa. was dismissed at the request of the prosecutor after the victim recanted her statement. Costs were taxed to the victim.

Andrea Lightner, 44, Alliance, was fined $250 and sentenced to 60 days in jail, with 59 days suspended and credit for one day served, for soliciting and drug paraphernalia. Charges of possessing criminal tools and attempted were dismissed. Lightner was ordered to complete 40 hours community service. Lightner was accused of soliciting sex for hire on an ad on a known prostitution website and arranging to meet an undercover officer for sexual activity in exchange for money, arriving in East Palestine on Jan. 5 for the meeting.

A pretrial was set July 3 for Ryan Frantz, 21, West Pine Street, Lisbon, charged with domestic violence for allegedly attempting to harm a woman by hitting her in the face on April 17 in Lisbon.

Kenneth Hmura, 52, Adah, Pa., was fined $750 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and a 12-hour education course. Hmura answered an undercover ad and solicited sexual conduct with two females in exchange for $220 and arrived in East Palestine on Jan. 29 for the meeting.

A pretrial was set July 3 for Clay Mills, South Walnut Street, Wellsville, charged with interference with custody after allegedly being caught with two juvenile girls in his vehicle during a traffic stop on state Route 344 on Dec. 12. The juveniles didn’t know where they were going and their parents didn’t know they were with the defendant, whom they didn’t know.

A pretrial was set July 6 for Brian Dolnack, 50, Monaca, Pa., charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad of a female on a known prostitution website, arranging for sexual activity in exchange for $100 and traveling to East Palestine on April 14 for the meeting.

Raymond Gonzalez, 49, Canfield, was fined $750 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and a 12-hour education course. Gonzalez responded to an undercover ad of an 18-year-old female on a known escort website, arranged for sexual activity in exchange for $140 and arrived Feb. 1 in East Palestine for the meeting.

A pretrial was set July 10 for Lawrence Kunzelman, 53, South Park, Pa., charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad of a female on a known prostitution website, arranging for sexual activity in exchange for $100 and traveling to East Palestine on April 16 for the meeting.

A pretrial was set July 10 for Randy Bolyard, 30, North Ellsworth Avenue, Salem, charged with endangering children for allegedly leaving her two children, ages 6 and 8 years old, alone at their home in Salem on March 31 while she went to her mother’s residence near Lisbon. The children had gone to a neighbor’s house pounding on the door because they didn’t know where their mother was.

A pretrial was set June 29 for Mary Menning, 56, Elberon Avenue, Salem, charged with domestic violence for allegedly striking a man in the face causing a bloody nose on April 16 in Perry Township.

A pretrial was set June 29 for Matthew Edward Jones, 29, Whitacre Avenue, Minerva, charged with possessing criminal tools, engaging in prostitution and obstructing official business for allegedly responding to an undercover ad of a mother and daughter on a known prostitution website and arranged for sexual activity with the females in exchange for $220. When he arrived in East Palestine for the meeting on April 14, he allegedly told police he was just turning around and was lost and that his name was Tom and he was from Canton.

A pretrial was set July 10 for Joshua Morris, 45, Steubenville, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly requesting sexual activity with an undercover agent in exchange for $120 and arriving in Salem on April 15 for the meeting.

Abbigail Swinehart, 19, Pittsburgh Street, Columbiana, was fined $400 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 160 days suspended and credit for five days served for two counts of assault. She was also ordered to perform 20 hours community service. Swinehart fought with East Liverpool City Hospital staff and security personnel on Aug. 15, 2022, pulling a nurse’s hair and striking a security guard in the chest.

A pretrial was set July 6 for Lindsay Manypenny, 40, Pritchard, Lisbon, charged with theft for allegedly failing to scan and pay for 14 items totaling $134 at the Calcutta Walmart on April 5.

An extradition hearing was set April 27 for Douglas Sheppard, 62, Longs Crossing Road, Leetonia, charged as a fugitive from justice from Bartholomew County, Indiana for failure to appear on a charge of unlawful possession of a syringe. He was found sleeping in a vehicle at a Columbiana business on April 11.

A pretrial was set July 3 for Thomas W. Akers, 33, St. George Street, East Liverpool, charged with violation of a protection order, a misdemeanor, for allegedly being at the property of a woman who has an active protection order against him on April 14 in East Liverpool. He was also fined $250 for driving under suspension and disorderly conduct, amended from violating a protection order, for a Feb. 20 incident in East Liverpool.

Joni May, 40, Dakota Street, East Liverpool, was fined $150 and sentenced to 14 days in jail, with credit for three days served, for drug paraphernalia for possessing a cut straw with white powder residue during a traffic stop when she was a passenger on May 7, 2022 in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set July 13 for Brianna Pugh, 19, Chester, W.Va., charged with theft for allegedly failing to scan and pay for 14 items totaling $107 from the Calcutta Walmart on April 8.

Josh Chapman, 33, Southeast Boulevard, Salem, was fined $250 for substandard premises due to an unsanitary yard area and repeated violations since 2021 in Salem.

Cheryl Dieringer, 54, John Street, East Liverpool, was fined $500 each on five counts of failure to pay city income tax, with all but $50 suspended on condition that all due returns are filed and a payment plan is followed. She failed to file East Liverpool city income tax from 2018 through 2022.

A pretrial was set June 27 for Scott Rogers, 29, Washington Street, Salineville, charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs second offense, OVI refusal with prior within 20 months, driving under suspension, no headlights, no valid license and marked lanes.

Alyssa Germano, 25, Brunswick, was fined $955 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in driver intervention, for OVI, lights required and no seat belt. Her driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted, and she was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

A pretrial was set July 6 for Todd Buckman, 55, Salem Unity Road, Salem, charged with OVI first offense.

A pretrial was set July 10 for Mark Schweikart, 42, Enon Valley, Pa., charged with engaging in prostitution, possessing criminal tools, OVI second offense and OVI refusal with prior within 20 years. Schweikart allegedly responded to an undercover ad of an 18-year-old female on a known prostitution website, arranged for sexual acts in exchange for $100 and arrived in East Palestine on Feb. 3 for the meeting.

A pretrial was set April 27 for Homer Swanson IV, 26, Liberty Street, Salem, charged with obstructing official business for failing to acknowledge orders of Salem police officers on April 16 at a residence in Salem.

A pretrial was set July 10 for Solita Patton, 28, Echo Dell Road, East Liverpool, charged with OVI first offense, driving under suspension and headlights required.

A pretrial was set July 6 for Brandon Byers, 30, Oakwood Street, East Liverpool, charged with possessing marijuana. Byers was also fined $100 for another charge of possessing marijuana.

Mindy Lodge, 47, Rose Drive, Lisbon, was fined $200 for driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set July 6 for Dominique Powell, 46, Main Street, Salem, charged with driving under suspension and improper/expired registration.

A pretrial was set April 27 for Bradley Soliday, 36, Bayard Road, Minerva, charged with possessing drug abuse instruments for having a syringe on Sept. 25, 2022 in East Rochester.

An OVI first offense charge against Richard Benoy, 68, Paris, was dismissed since an indictment was issued through the county grand jury.

Jenna Catone, 31, East Clark Street, East Palestine, was fined $150 for equipment violation, amended from speeding.

Quinn Shannon, 27, Garfield Heights, was fined $250 for driving under suspension and speeding.

Taylah Erfort, 25, Carnegie, Pa., was fined $295 for driving under suspension and reasonable control

A pretrial was set July 3 for Julie Lewis, 45, North Lima, charged with wrongful entrustment.

Shane Reed, 35, Wilbert Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $180 for driving under suspension and required lights.

A court trial was set May 1 for Jack Orian Colon, 62. Longs Crossing Road, Leetonia, charged with a seat belt violation.

A pretrial was set July 13 for Lisa Clark, 63, Cream Ridge Road, Lisbon, charged with wrongful entrustment.

Harriet Cortez, 45, Campbell, was fined $150 for speeding, with a charge of assured clear distance dismissed.

A pretrial was set June 27 or Joel Lipke, 31, Aliquippa, Pa., charged with speeding.

A pretrial was set June 29 for Marilyn Charnie, 62, Weirton, W.Va., charged with speeding.
