COLUMBIANA COUNTY MUNICIPAL

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, Anthony Lucente, 63, Greensboro, N,C., had his case bound over to the county grand jury on charges of compelling prostitution, a third-degree felony, and possessing criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly answering an ad on a known escort website placed by an undercover Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force agent posing as a 16-year-old girl and arranging for sexual activity in exchange for $80. When he arrived in East Palestine for the meeting on July 13, Lucente claimed he was going to just talk the girl out of having sex with individuals and if she didn’t listen, provide her with condoms for her future safety.

A case against Beau Manley, 39, Wood Street, East Palestine, for a charge of receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony, was bound over to the grand jury. Manley allegedly had a stolen registration sticker on the license plate of the vehicle he was driving during a traffic stop on July 14 in Columbiana. He was fined $200 for two counts of driving under suspension and charges of expired registration, stop sign and no seat belt were dismissed.

Matthew Crowl, 43, West Wilson Street, Salem, had his case bound over to the county grand jury on charges of tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, and misdemeanors for drug abuse instruments and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia. The drug abuse instruments charge stemmed from two syringes found at a West Wilson Street, Salem residence on May 5 when police came into contact with Crowl for an alleged drug overdose. Police had been called for a suspicious person in Salem on July 11 and came into contact with Crowl, who continued to walk when told to stop and put his hands in his pants. An unknown white substance was allegedly found in his pocket. He denied having anything else, but while being finger-printed, a syringe used for injecting narcotics fell from his shorts.

A pretrial was set Sept. 8 for Benjamin Sluder, 45, Y and O Road, East Liverpool, charged with engaging in prostitution, possessing criminal tools, obstructing official business and resisting arrest for allegedly soliciting sexual activity from an undercover Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force agent in exchange for $80 and then arriving in East Palestine on July 20, walking to the meeting location after parking his cab, and then walking away when police approached, refusing to provide his name and obstructing officers.

A pretrial was set Aug. 30 for Mitchel Rodriguez, 32, Vandergrift, Pa., charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly coming to Salem on July 12 after soliciting sexual acts from an undercover Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force agent in exchange for $120

Abram Petersen, 33, Hartley Road, Beloit, was ordered to serve 30 days in jail for violating his probation for domestic violence. The charge stemmed from Jan. 29, 2020 when he punched a woman in the face several times and put her in a chokehold.

Justin Spack, Arch Street, Salem, was fined $400 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 24 days suspended and credit for 6 days served for two counts of disorderly conduct, one amended from domestic violence, for an incident July 14 in Salem when he pushed his mother, was intoxicated and had already been warned when police were at the residence earlier in the day.

Keith Curran, 40, Long Beach, Miss., was fined $850 and sentenced to 90 days in jail with 80 suspended and credit for 10 days served for engaging in prostitution, possession of criminal tools and possession of drug paraphernalia. He also was ordered to complete 20 hours of community service and an online education course. Curran solicited sexual activity with an undercover Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force agent posting as a female in exchange for methamphetamine and showed up in East Palestine on July 8 with his phone used to arrange the meeting and possessed methamphetamine and a meth pipe.

A domestic violence charge was dismissed against Kelly Reed, 32, Sunset Drive, Wellsville, at the prosecutor’s request who spoke to the victim, Reed’s mother, who said she was not assaulted by Reed. She was ordered to serve 22 days in jail, with credit for 22 days served for a probation violation for falsification and assault charges. The assault stemmed from assaulting a man in the lower back area with a yellow garden tool possibly a till on March 30 on Sunset Drive, Wellsville. The falsification stemmed from a traffic stop on Jan. 9 when she gave a false name.

A pretrial was set Sept. 27 for Elizabeth Mohr, 28, Pine Lake Road, Beloit, charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, OVI breath and marked lanes.

A pretrial was set July 28 for James Ward, 23, Canton, charged with OVI first offense, OVI breath, hit skip/leave scene and speeding.

A pretrial was set Aug. 4 for Ashley Davis, 34, Ambrose Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with driving under suspension, transfer registration of vehicle and obstructing official business. A probation violation hearing was also set Aug. 4 for Davis on charges of OVI first offense, OVI breath, driving under suspension and failure to control. The obstruction charge stemmed from Aug. 10, 2021 when Davis allegedly failed to provide her personal information to a sheriff’s deputy.

Nichalos Horn, 28, Youngstown, was fined $180 for marijuana paraphernalia and stop sign for possessing marijuana paraphernalia during a traffic stop on July 2 in Leetonia.

A pretrial was set Aug. 29 for Jonathon Lagone, 20, Glasgow Road, Salineville, charged with OVI second offense, OVI breath, speeding and possession of marijuana for allegedly possessing marijuana during a traffic stop July 17 on state Route 45, Salem.

Larry Bowen, 62, Elberon Avenue, Salem, was fined $135 for driving under suspension and speeding.

COLUMBIANA COUNTY GRAND JURY

LISBON — An East Liverpool man is facing three felony counts of burglary for incidents in February and March after being served with a secret indictment recently.

David Haught Jr., 36, Florence Street, was indicted for two second-degree felony counts and one third-degree felony count, all burglary charges, for incidents in Columbiana County on Feb. 18, March 13 and March 16.

Also served with a secret indictment was Todd McClain, 45, Youngstown, indicted for a felony charge of possession of fentanyl-related compound for allegedly possessing a fentanyl-related compound on Sept. 19, 2021.
