— Deputies responded to a shooting complaint on North Pleasant Drive in Unity Township at 1:58 a.m. Wednesday but did not find anyone shooting in the area.
— A woman called deputies after she heard a car alarm at her home in the 3000 block of Sycamore Street, Knox Township, at 4:22 a.m. Thursday. She looked out and did not see anyone around and deputies did not find anyone or anything that appeared disturbed or out of place.
— Duane H. Parson, 55, Lansing, Mich., was charged with reckless operation, failure to comply and improper display at 11:02 p.m. July 10. Parson fled from police in Alliance and traveled east on U.S. Route 62 into Salem. The Salem police department was notified of the pursuit and Parson’s direction of travel and an officer pulled into the eastbound lane of state Route 14 to block or slow down his vehicle from entering downtown Salem. The officer knew there were multiple community events happening and there was heavy pedestrian traffic. Parson did not stop and struck the cruiser from the rear driver side. The cruiser spun around after the impact and struck a street light and Parson’s vehicle went off the road and into a chain link fence. He was allegedly found to be under the influence of heroin and was transported to a nearby hospital. The officer that was in the cruiser was transported to a nearby hospital to be evaluated but stated she did not sustain any injuries.
— Kristy L. Burruss, 39, Homeworth, was cited with assured clear distance after rear-ending a vehicle driven by Deronda L. Adelman, 64, Alliance, while traveling on U.S. Route 62 in Butler Township at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday.
— Libby R. McElroy, 16, East Palestine, was cited with assured clear distance after rear-ending a vehicle driven by Kaitlin J. Harwell, 32, New Middletown, while traveling on state Route 14 in Unity Township at 11:25 a.m. Saturday.
