LISBON — Brandon R. Russell, 28, Garner Avenue, East Liverpool, pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a lesser included offense to the sexual battery, third-degree felony, charge he was initially facing. He faces up to an 18-month prison sentence and a $5,000 fine at sentencing, which was scheduled for Jan. 15. He also will be required to register as a Tier II sexual offender, required to verify his address every six months for 25 years.
Russell was accused of engaging in sexual conduct between June 1, 2011 through June 1, 2014 with a teenage member of a congregation where he served as a cleric.
Jason R.S. Gish, 24, Sherman Street, Lisbon, stipulated to violating the terms of his community control, which was dishonorably terminated. Gish had sold marijuana to a confidential informant in both June and July of 2015 and was convicted of two counts of trafficking in drugs.
Murdo D. Urquhart, 43, Youngstown, pleaded guilty to three count of non-support of dependents for failing to provide adequate support to three children, currently 17, 19 and 24, during a period between March 1, 2014 and Feb. 7, 2020. Sentencing is set for Jan. 7. He faces up to three years in prison and a $7,500 fine.
Chad V. Lang Jr., 26, Lincoln Street, East Liverpool, was placed on four years community control for two counts of harassment with bodily substances. On Oct. 25, 2019, Lang had expelled a bodily substance onto correction officers Sgt. David Schialdone and Jessica Gillingham.
Shawn P. Warren, 45, Grant Street, East Liverpool, stipulated to violating the terms of his community control and was sentenced to 45 days in jail for the possession of drugs and attempted tampering with evidence charges. The charges were for having cocaine and concealing evidence on Jan. 29, 2018.
Thomas W. Akers, 31, Saint George Street, East Liverpool, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, for having the substance on Jan. 2, 2019. He was found eligible for intervention in lieu of conviction and was placed on a four-year intervention treatment plan.
Patrick James Scafide, 30, Thompson Avenue, East Liverpool, stipulated to violating the terms of his intervention treatment plan, which was dishonorably terminated. Scafide was placed at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center for the two counts of aggravated possession of drugs charges for having methamphetamines and oxycodone on May 10, 2019. After his release, Scafide will remain on community control.
Billie J. Thompson, 38, West Middletown Road, Canfield, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated possession of drugs and five counts of possession of drugs. On Aug. 1, 2019, Thompson had methamphetamine, buprenorphine and amphetamine. Then on June 11, 2019, Thompson had methamphetamine, tramadol, lorazepam and clonazepam. Thompson was placed on a three-year intervention treatment plan.
