Highway Patrol

— Cameron R. Walker, 19, of East Palestine, was cited for failure to control after he went off the right side of the road and into a ditch while driving on state Route 154 in Middleton Township at 3:30 p.m. May 21.

County Sheriff

— Norfolk Southern police reported an eastbound train near U.S. Route 30 had a stowaway passenger aboard at 10:27 a.m. Thursday. Before deputies arrived, the passenger took off from the train, but returned and got back on. When deputies arrived, the train stopped and he got off again. He was seen walking along the train and then north toward U.S. 30. After the train started moving, deputies saw the man again and stopped him. Norfolk Southern police were notified he was in custody, but they asked for him only to be warned about riding on the train. He was released.

— A Bandy Road, Knox Township, man reported at 12:27 p.m. Thursday a young, Hispanic man had placed his clothing out all over his front porch and then laid down like he was going to take a nap. Deputies spoke to the man, who said he was from Chicago and riding his bike to Pennsylvania. It rained heavily, so he found shelter to dry off. Deputies explained that finding shelter on a random front porch is not the wisest decision and can make the homeowner nervous. He was told to gather his belongings and keep going to Pennsylvania.

— Both deputies and the highway patrol checked the area of an oil well drive near Buffalo Road, West Township, where a vehicle reportedly was parked with a person inside at 11:44 p.m. Thursday. Nothing illegal was taking place, but the person’s license was suspended. He called his mother to come to take him and his vehicle home.

— Suspicious activity was reported at a home on state Route 170, Middleton Township, at 10:37 p.m. Wednesday. Nothing was found out of the ordinary in the area.

— A man reported while he was at the Dunkin Donuts in Lisbon at 5:26 p.m. Thursday, another man pulled up beside him and began yelling at him. He has had problems with this man in the past and wanted something on file in case.

— A state Route 170, Middleton Township, woman reported at 4:17 p.m. Thursday her ex-husband’s uncle posted her phone number and a fake message on the Wellsville 2.0 Facebook page. She is currently going through a custody dispute with her ex-husband and believed that is why the uncle posted the fake message. Within the comments of the post, the uncle states the text message is a fake.

— A Desellem Road, Madison Township, woman reported at 9:30 p.m. Thursday her brother and her boyfriend were arguing. When deputies arrived, her boyfriend had already left. Her brother said he argued with the boyfriend for leaving his sister’s son there alone when he was supposed to be watching him.

— A neighbor of a Fairfield School Road address reported a domestic violence incident at 10:55 a.m. Thursday. Deputies knocked on several doors and windows, announcing it was the sheriff’s office, but no one answered.
