Columbiana County Grand Jury

LISBON — Ten people secretly indicted by the Columbiana County grand jury were served with indictments this week, including several people charged with welfare fraud:

Those indicted are:

Daniel U. Prentice, 27, Beaver Street, East Liverpool, charged with committing felonious assault with a firearm against Joseph Desarro on April 20, 2019.

Daniel Germanovich, 44, and Nancy Germanovich, 70, both of state Route 45, Lisbon, are each charged with three counts of theft involving purchases of wheel lifts from their business, Slik Pick Industries, that were reportedly never delivered to the buyers. The alleged victims and dollar amounts are: R & J Motors, $6,500; Shift-n-Gears Inc., $5,470; and Peace and Love Towing LLC, $6,595.

Shelby N. Congrove, 43, state Route 45, Lisbon, charged with illegal receipt of food stamps and engaging in Medicaid fraud. Both alleged crimes occurred from Dec. 1, 2016, to Nov. 30, 2017.

April R. Mathes, 33 Aetna Street, Salem, charged with illegal receipt of food stamps, Medicaid fraud and grand theft involving child care and cash assistance. The alleged crimes occurred at different times between September 2013 and October 2018.

Shannon N. Mecum, 33, May Street, East Liverpool, charged with illegal receipt of food stamps, Medicaid fraud and grand theft.. The alleged crimes occurred between October 2017 and December 2018.

Diego B. Gozalez, 30, of Youngstown, charged with assaulting two guards at the county jail on May 19.

Christopher Bowersock, 36, Oak Drive, Wellsville, charged with theft of drugs and possession of drugs. The drug is gabapentin, and the alleged crimes occurred on April 15.

Dakota S. McCluskey, 27, Hilltop Road, Lisbon, charged with aggravated drug possession, with the drug being meth, on March 29, 2018.
