East Liverpool Municipal

In Municipal Court Tuesday, Cierra L. Whaley, 27, Madison Avenue, Salineville, was sentenced to 30 days in jail for prohibitions concerning companion animals. She had nine dogs found to be living in deplorable conditions, obviously malnourished, according to the deputy county dog warden, who said the dogs had inadequate shelter and no food or water, but that Whaley could not explain why. Whaley was also sentenced to 30 days for obstructing official business and had a suspended 30-day sentenced imposed during a probation violation hearing. She had previously been convicted and sentenced to 30 days for domestic violence.

Second arraignments were set for Daniel J. Monte Jr., 43, Center Street, Wellsville, charged with no turn signal and expired license, Sept. 14; Clinton W. Wright, 31, Skyview Circle, domestic violence, Sept. 18; and John F. Nolan, 44, Faulk Avenue, domestic violence, violating a protection order, Sept. 18.

A pretrial was scheduled Sept. 13 for Wade E. Tookes Jr., 46, Market Street, charged with resisting arrest.
