Columbiana County Common Pleas
Michael R. Sutton, 23, North 15th Street, Sebring, pleaded guilty in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. He faces up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine. Sentencing is set for June 15. On the evening of Aug. 10, Sutton had a loaded .357 Ruger revolver between the driver’s seat and center console of his 2005 Ford pickup.
Chantelle A. Scott Jr., 21, Youngstown, was found eligible for intervention in lieu of conviction. He pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property and three counts of possession of drugs. He was placed on a four-year intervention treatment plan. Scott had a stolen .380 caliber pistol in the dresser drawer of the bedroom where he and his co-defendant were sleeping during the execution of a search warrant at a College Street, East Liverpool, address on Dec. 2, 2016. Additionally, Scott was found with cocaine, methamphetamine and carfentanyl.
