Scott Matheson reported at 10:21 p.m. Thursday Michael Cochran had punched his daughter, Katie, in the face at her home on Sunset Drive. Katie’s mother told police that Cochran and Katie had been arguing when she threw a cup at him, striking him in the face, so he slapped her. Neither party wished to press charges, but Cochran was taken into custody on an unrelated arrest warrant out of the county sheriff’s office.
Police responded at 12:08 a.m. Tuesday to a home on North Market Street where a mentally disturbed person lives and was going to be transported to a local hospital for a mental evaluation. Police said the problem was with the man’s son, and the man calmed down after police arrived.
