Hancock County Farm Bureau
The Hancock County Farm Bureau will hold its annual cover dish dinner on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at the New Manchester fire station. The dinner will start at 6:30 p.m. Representatives from the FB state office will be on hand along with Farm Bureau Insurance Company of West Virginia agents. State and county government offices will also be represented. All members are encouraged to attend along with anyone who has questions on what Farm Bureau can do for them.
BLAA annual car show
The Beaver Local Alumni Association will hold its annual car show on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at the K-12 Campus, 46088 Bell School Road. The first 50 cars will receive dash plaques; first, second, third and Best of Show trophies will be awarded, entry fee is a donation. Event is open to all, there will be food, music 50/50 and basket drawling.
Choose To Lose Group
Choose To Lose Group met at Boyce Church on September 9 with Secretary Pam Fouse presiding. The meeting opened up with the pledge of allegiance followed by the CTLG roll call.
Pam Fouse gave the secretary report and Cassie Stephens gave the treasure report. Both were approved as read.
Wanda Price was the Pearl’s biggest loser, Dottie Seevers was the Diamonds biggest loser, Cassie Stephens was the officer biggest loser. Diamonds in leeway are Dottie Seevers and Jean Ferrebee.
The no no’s are No Eating After 7 p.m. and chocolate.
Jean Ferrebee won the calorie charts, Wanda Price won the dimes, and Cassie Stephens won the Share The Blessing.
Winners of the No Fibbing Contest are Cassie Stephens, Wanda Price, and Pam Fouse. New numbers were drawn for the following week # 9.
Tammy Heddelston, Carolyn Hager, Cassie Stephens, Jean Ferrebee, Wanda Price, and Dottie Seevers got to put A Pig In The Pen.
Dottie Seevers name was pulled to win the Beautiful Swag Bag made by Wanda Price.
Fouse closed the meeting with prayer requests followed by the Lord’s Prayer. New and former members are always welcome. For more information call 330-383-8217.
Tops 1341
Tops 1341 met at the Glenmoor Presbyterian Church on Monday, with Mary Gailey, leader, presiding. Chris Plunkett was the best loser and Pat Allison was runner up. They chose cake and cheese curls as the junk foods for the coming week.
Drawing winners were: 50/50-Darla Varney, food chart-Marlene Reynolds, weight loss-Cassie Ensinger, and junk food-Dorothy Garn.
Other winners were: Losing three weeks in a row-Garn and Cathy Wollam. Three times in the losers book were: Plunkett and Allison. The attendance record for 8 weeks was Ensinger. Plunkett returned from vacation without a gain. All names went on the check at this meeting.
The monthly winners were: Best loser and exercise-Garn. The runner up was Gailey. Calorie chart was Ensinger.
