May Family Reunion
The 29th May Family Reunion will be held Aug. 9, 2025 at Summitville Fire Hall. Dinner will begin at 1 p.m. Bring covered dish and item for sale. Meat and drinks furnished. Games to be held. New officers: Casey, Carla and Becky.
Lepper Library programs
LISBON — Lepper Library will host the following programs this month:
Color Fusion: Books and Color Combine Colorful Cooking Summer Program by Emmalee Wince from OSU Nutrition from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesdays. For ages 8 to 17, this colorful cooking program continues with the exploration of the power of food. This is a hands-on program that will include nutritional facts and a tasty new recipe every session. Registration required.
Mandala Origami Class with Laura Spencer, 2 p.m., Monday, July 14. Learn how to make an origami mandala with local art teacher,Laura Spencer. For children ages 8 and up. Registration is required for this limited class.
“Bird & Quilts” Program with guest speaker Robin Tener, 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 15. Robin Tener will share with us how she incorporates birds into her quilt-making designs.
Trivia with Fire Chief Mark Hall, 5-6 p.m., Thursday, July 17. Think you know Ohio like the back of your hand? This program is a blazing hour with the fire chief as he reads the questions and be sure to buzz in fast for a chance to win a prize. Seating is limited.
Tops 1341
Tops 1341 met at the Glenmoor Presbyterian Church on Monday, July 7, with leader, Mary Gailey, presiding. Dorothy Garn was best loser and Cassie Ensinger was runner up. Junk foods are potato chips and all sodas.
Drawing winners were: Cheryl Myers – calorie chart, Garn – weight loss, Gailey – 50/50. The jackpot was forfeited.
Other winners were: Darlene Naukam for losing three weeks in a row, Garn was three times in the best losers book, Ensinger was 8 weeks in the attendance book and Gailey returned from a vacation without a gain. Gailey now holds the travel box. Two members remain on the check.
The monthly winners were: Best loser Myers, runner up Marlene Reynolds, calorie chart Naukam, and exercise Judy McComas.
Garn reminded the members that The Watermelon Contest will begin this week. The rules for the contest were discussed.
Cindy Hays presented a program on the “Seven Types Of Hunger,” with members participating. The winner was Kandice Kraft.

WLC Club
The WLC Club met on July 1 at the Living Well Church with leader Mary Jarvis opening the meeting with roll call and then Mary Schmidt leading the group in prayer.
Donna Lee was the best loser and she also wore the officers ribbon.
Martha Baxter was recognized for having a ten pound weight loss. The dimes will be carried over. Jarvis was recognized for having lost weight for three weeks in a row.
The group welcomed a new member.
Barb Tranter won the 50/50 drawing and the caterpillar for the month of June. The biggest loser for June was Martha Baxter. Baxter also won the race car game that ended this week. She will receive her prize next week.
The following members were recognized for having perfect attendance for the last three months: Alice Eckstein, Donna Lee, Mary Jarvis, Betty Pease, Linda Seevers and Barb Tranter. These ladies will receive two weeks dues paid.
Members are to bring in a card with a dollar for Hailee next week.
The election of officers will be July 15 of July and the picnic will be on Aug. 15.
Donna Lee gave the treasurer’s report and Brenda Young read the minutes; both were approved as read.
Barb Tranter gave the program titled “Staying safe in the summer fun,” and then she read a funny joke.
Jarvis closed the meeting wishing all a good week.
