MOC closed July 5

The Museum of Ceramics will be closed through July 5 due to the basement flooding and the holiday weekend. The museum will reopen on July 8.

EL Planning Commission

The East Liverpool City Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing July 30 at 5:15 p.m. in the East Liverpool City Council Chambers located in East Liverpool City Hall, 126 W. Sixth St. The East Liverpool City Planning Commission will conduct the public hearing to consider the following: Zoning Change Request 01-2025: A zoning classification change request filed by Tom Beagle (petitioner) of 1566 Pennsylvania Ave. Beagle is requesting a zoning classification change from “B-2” Community Shopping Center to “B-1” Neighborhood Business for a lot located along Minnesota Avenue.

The lot petitioned for zoning classification change has an area of 1.6772 acres and can be further identified by Columbiana County Parcel Number 37-01298.000. Codified Ordinance 1121.04(a) defines “B-1” Neighborhood Business zoning classification as an area reserved for small local business with convenience type goods such as are handled in small drugstores, plus personal services such as barber shops and beauty salons. Uses in these areas must be compatible with surrounding residential uses and not be large generators of traffic. Reason listed on the application for a zoning classification change: “Smaller lot size for business addition.”

File for this zoning change request is available for review at the East Liverpool Planning Department, 126 W. Sixth St.

Choose To Lose Group

Choose To Lose Group met at Boyce Church on June 30 with Leader Penny Perorazio presiding. The meeting opened up with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the CTLG roll call. Perorazio gave the secretary report and Cass Stephens gave the treasurer’s reports.

Carolyn Hager was the Pearl’s biggest loser. Dottie Seevers was diamonds biggest loser and officer was Stephens. Diamonds in leeway are Seevers, Jean Ferrebee and Jo Ann Berresford. Seevers won the Share the Blessing and Stephens won the calorie chart. Dimes were won by Berresford. No fibbing winners were Stephens, Ferrebee, Perorazio, and Berresford.

Next week fibbing number is #4. No No’s are ice cream and salty snacks. Putting pigs in the pig pen were Stephens, Hager, Perorazio, Berresford, and Seevers. Biggest Loser for the month was Ferrebee. Perorazio had 10 weeks loss and received a one week paid dues.

Perorazio read an article on “Know Who You Are.” Perorazio closed the meeting with prayer request followed by the Lord’s Prayer. New and former members are always welcome on Tuesdays at 10 a.m.

TOPS Ohio 1341

TOPS Ohio 1341 East Liverpool met Monday at the Glenmoor Presbyterian Church. Best Loser was Judy McComas and Runner ups were Pat Allison and Marlene Reynolds. Dena White won the 50/50. Dorothy Garn won the Calorie Chart and Junk Food. Darlene Naukam won the weight loss drawing.

Installation of new officers was held. New officers are Leader Mary Gaily, Co-Leader Marlene Reynolds, Secretary Dorothy Garn, Treasurer Cathy Wollam and Weight Recorder Darla Varney.
