Trustees approve revised public records policy
LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP — During Tuesday’s meeting of the Liverpool Township Board of Trustees, the trustees approved resolutions updating the township’s public records policy to reflect the fees which can be charged for public records requests of police body camera videos. The update reflects the charges approved by the recently passed state law which allows police departments to charge up to $75 hour for the time involved in the producing, redacting, copying of video and storage devices used to fulfill public records requests of body camera videos.
Fiscal Officer Shirley Flati said she is also working on updating the public records retention policy and will be sending that to the state for approval.
The trustees also approved resolutions excluding the City of Salem for an alternative method of payment of apportionment of local government fund monies to be distributed in 2026 and approving a new alternative method of apportioned local government fund monies to be distributed. These are resolutions the township annually approves.
Also approved was a resolution to supplement the appropriations for the General Fund in the amount of $8,596 for contracted services.
Bills totaling $45,221.21 were approved for payment.
Flati in her report said she was working on day-to-day activities, revising the records retention policy and the April bank reconciliation.
There was no report from Fire Chief Dave Ward, but Trustee Dennis Giambroni noted that he needed Ward to get estimates on furnaces for the fire department.
Police Chief Jarod Kinemond said that the number six car was fixed and that the battery for it was covered under warranty, so the repair was at no cost. He also noted that antivirus software would be installed in computers in the department’s cars at no charge.
The road department’s 2016 truck was sent to the blacksmith’s for a welding repair.
Giambroni said that a litter pickup will take place in the township this Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon
Trustee Mike Bahen noted that letters went out to the owners of nuisance properties in the township, and Giambroni said there were three more letters to mail out.
There was no one to speak during the public portion.
The Liverpool Township Board of Trustees meets every other Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the township administration building. The next regular meeting is scheduled for June 24.
