LISBON — During Wednesday’s Columbiana County Board of Developmental Disabilities (CCBDD) meeting, board members voted to approve new concrete sidewalks and curbing at the front and back of the Robert Bycroft School and the courtyard at a cost of $49,900, with work to be done by R&R Paving.

They also approved the renewing of interpretation/translation services with Diana Montero and the renewal of the contract with OCCHA for the same services.

For Montero who will serve as a backup if someone is not available from the OCCHA, the rate is $40 per hour for a term beginning May 21, 2025, through May 31, 2027. For OCCHA who will be the primary provider for interpretation/translation services, the contract runs from May 3, 2025, through May 3, 2027, and provides for a rate of $50 per hour.

Additionally, the board approved going to summer hours which reduces the day by one hour from June 1 to Aug. 22; sponsoring the Fourth Annual Ability Walk & Roll to be held on Aug. 9 at Eastwood Field in Niles, Ohio, at a sponsorship level of $10,000; level one waivers for three clients and individual option waivers for two clients at the recommendation of the Ethics Committee; to send two members of the Kiwanis Aktion Club to the national convention in Pittsburgh, Pa., at a donation of $800; and to renew the liability insurance with Hylant group at a cost of $8,149 for premium package, $3,563for TMHCC cyber premium and $401 for pollution premium.

There was no old business from board members or Superintendent William Devon and no new business from the board members.

Devon under announcements said that the staff in-service will be held Aug. 18-19, the DD Awareness Night with the Youngstown Phantom he heard went well, The Autism Day Awareness Event sponsored by the St. Clair Township Police Department and held April 26 at Beaver Local High School was nice and there was a lot of stuff there, but attendance was low probably due to cold weather.
