CHESTER — A city family was displaced after an overnight blaze.
The occupants at 209 Alpine Way awakened at 11:22 p.m. Tuesday to find their home engulfed.
Chester Fire Chief John Hissam said that his department along with Newell and Lawrenceville firefighters were on the scene until around 5 a.m. Wednesday.
The contents and structure are a total loss at $50,000.
Carl Price is the property owner of record. As of noon Wednesday, officials could not reach Price to determine if there was insurance.
Raymond Ripley and another adult occupied the home and appears to be staying with relatives.
Hissam concluded that the blaze appeared to start in the back of the residence near the kitchen, but investigators have not determined a cause as of yet.
