Chester Garden Club

CHESTER – Vice President Susie Willson led the members in The Pledge of Allegiance and the Garden Club Prayer when the Chester Garden Club met at the Chester City Building on April 23.

Donna Stevens read “A Gift of Giving” and gave the blessing. Mary Ann Wright gave the treasurer’s report.

Wilson reported that she had ordered the fireman’s statue that will be placed in the Richmond Garden.

Tulip bulbs will be removed from the flower pots when the spring flowers are planted and stored until they are replanted next fall. Ki Trelaine will research the cost of more tulip bulbs to be added to the planters next fall. She also offered to donate some daffodil bulbs from her private collection.

Flowers will be planted before Memorial Day. Date for planting will be posted on the club’s group text.

Wilson will set up the same “week at a time” schedule that the club used last year for watering the flower pots over the summer.

Club members made suggestions for several locations around Chester to be featured on the next fundraiser puzzle, “Chester, My Hometown.”

Trelaine, Programs/Education coordinator, will make arrangements for a group visit to Hippley Gardens in Columbiana in May or June.

Next month’s meeting will be held at the Chester City Building on Wednesday, May 28, at 1 p.m. Anyone interested in joining the club is invited to attend.

Starting at $2.99/week.
