Unoccupied structures catch fire in EL
EAST LIVERPOOL (WKBN) — Multiple departments were on the scene of at least three homes and a two-story garage on fire in East Liverpool on Sunday night.
Crews got the call around 8 p.m. on the 600 block of Avondale Street. East Liverpool, Liverpool Township, Wellsville, Glenmoor and Calcutta fire departments responded. The state fire marshal was also on scene, and a tanker with more water was brought in from St. Clair Township.
Officials said five total unoccupied structures were on fire, and there were no reported injuries.
Black smoke could be seen filling the sky throughout downtown.
The state fire marshal will be on site again Monday to continue the investigation into how the fire started.
