Trustees reappoint zoning commission, board of appeals members at meeting

LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP — The Liverpool Township Board of Trustees voted to reappoint members whose terms were expiring to the zoning commission and zoning board of appeals during Tuesday’s trustees meeting.

For the zoning board of appeals, Jim Herring was approved to finish out the term for the position left vacant by the resignation of Stacy Conley. The term ends in Dec. 2028. Josh Smith has been reappointed for another term that begins Jan. 1, 2025, and ends Dec. 31, 2029.

Steve Cooper is resigning his position on the board. The trustees will need to fill that vacancy for the remainder of the term which ends Dec. 31, 2025. They have one applicant for the vacancy for at this time.

Jeff Smith was reappointed for another term which will begin Jan. 1, 2025, and ends Dec. 31, 2029.

The trustees approved four resolutions to supplement appropriations: for the fire district in the amount of $760 for Other Employee Reimbursement line item; for the Road and Bridge Fund in the amount of $11,600 for Medical/Hospitalization line item; for the Police District Fund in the amount of $22,000 for Medical/Hospitalization line item; for the Road and Bridge Fund in the amount of $84,926.76 with principal payments in the amount of $80,739.02 and interest payments in the amount of $4,187.76.

Payment of bills totaling $154,310.35 was also approved.

Fiscal Officer Shirley Flati said she finished up the 2025 appropriations. The trustees voted to approve the 2025 appropriations.

Trustee Dennis Giambroni said he received a letter from Bob Wines who sits on the board of trustees for the Buckeye Water District requesting to be reappointed to the board when his term ends on Dec. 31. The trustees voted to reappoint Wines for another term.

Giambroni also said the litter program is done for the year and there will be no more reports from the program until spring.

Trustee Mike Bahen said it was the time of year when they needed to curb appropriations.

Bahen also said that he found a buyer for the road department’s 2007 International dump truck. Madison Township is going to purchase the truck for $30,000. The trustees approved the sale of the truck.

There were no reports from the police or fire departments.

Road Supervisor Chris Bosworth said the tractor should be fixed and returned next week. He also said everything else was good at the shop and the generator was fixed.

The Liverpool Township Board of Trustees meets every other Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the township administration building. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Dec. 10.
