Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers’ Honorary give gift of giving
COLUMBIANA — The Columbiana County Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers’ Honorary met in October at Paul’s Italian Cafe and Grille in Columbiana. Nancy Dicken offered an inspirational reading and the prayer.
Barb Lipp, president of the Alpha Iota Chapter, led the business meeting. Amy Johnson’s minutes and Sharon Walker’s treasurer’s report were presented.
Two officers, Lipp and Vice President Pam Todd, attended the DKG Fall Executive Meeting in Columbus. They reported on updates.
For their community service project, members provided a collection of children’s books and clothes to be donated to The Way Station-East Liverpool site.
Members also voted to donate $200 to the DKG International Emergency Fund for assistance with their Hurricane Recovery program.
The chapter was represented by eight members at the Tri-County Joint Chapter Dinner at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. Special guests were Melodie McGee, president of the DKG Ohio State Organization, and Mukadas Tashieva, Fulbright Scholar and recipient of the Margaret E. Boyd Award. Entertainment was provided by the Boardman Jazz Group.
The next meeting will be held on Nov. 14 at 5:30 at Hoge’s Restaurant in East Liverpool.
