EAST LIVERPOOL –God’s Family Church opened recently in the former St. Anne’s Catholic Church located at 1500 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Pastor Tina Wheetley who trained at Rhea Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, Okla., heads the nondenominational church.

The church was formed in the former St. Anne’s after a need to relocate. According to Tammy Virden, Wheetley’s sister who directs the children’s ministry, the owner of the Pennsylvania Avenue location was willing to let them use the building for services when she told them they were starting a church.

Virden said the new church offers a Sunday morning Bible study which begins at 10 a.m., followed by services at 11 a.m., along with contemporary praise and worship, communion the first Sunday of each month, and a monthly family dinner the Sunday.

The church is affiliated the women’s ministry Warrior Women. The public is welcome to attend.
