Port authority seeking sponsors for Salem manufacturing event

LISBON — A partnership between the Columbiana County Port Authority and the Sustainable Opportunity Development Center in Salem will mean free lunch for workers in and around the Salem Industrial Park.

CCPA Assistant Executive Director Brittany Smith announced the first Manufacturing Workforce Appreciation Day set for Oct. 21, updating CCPA board members Monday on the plans to celebrate Manufacturing Month.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sandy Lake at the Salem Industrial Park, with food trucks providing lunch to all industrial park employees.

Smith said they’re expecting to feed 1,000 workers and they’re looking for sponsors to help cover the expense, sending sponsorship forms to partners and businesses of the industrial park. Smith said the hope is to make this an annual event, focusing on a different part of the county each year.

Sponsorships are available at three levels for $250, $500 and $1,000, with each sponsoring the food and T-shirts. Recognition sponsors also receive the company logo on the event banner. Manufacturer of the Month sponsors receive their logo on the event banner and business video promotion through the CCPA and SOD Center social media sites.

Sponsorship forms should be submitted by Oct. 7 at 7860 Lincoln Place, Lisbon, Ohio 44432. For information, call 330-424-1800 or email at ccpa@ccpa-ohioriver.com.
