Wellsville approves agenda filled with new hires

WELLSVILLE — School board members met Thursday afternoon to take action on an agenda dominated by personnel.

Board members approved a contract with Michelle Duprey-Anderson to provide functional behavior assessment and other assistance with district’s Individualized Education Plan students served by Proactive Behavior Services at a cost of $800 for assessments and establishing intervention plans and $75 hourly for training.

Resignations were accepted by Alicia Hackney, Wellsville Junior/Senior High School guidance coach and eighth-grade volleyball coach; Melody Allison, varsity assistant volleyball coach and National Honor Society adviser; Nikki DePace, Wellsville Junior/Senior High School social studies and language teacher; and Mitchell McDowell, Garfield Elementary School paraprofessional.

Other personnel actions taken were contracts with Rachel Ulbright, LPN; RuthAnn Hall, mental health counselor; Jeff Weekley, junior high football coach; Nick Bayer, golf coach; Levi Kunselman, junior high track coach; Beth Swogger, K-12 guidance counselor; Tyler Ewing, junior/senior high school math teachers Carissa Wilcox, National Honor Society adviser; Rob Long, Al Johnson, Jon Carter, Shawn Carter and Jesse Jackson as varsity assistant football coach.

In other action, the board contracted with Pizza Hut to provide the cafeteria with pizza twice a month beginning September through June 2022.

The next regular meeting is set at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16 at the high school media center.
