Columbiana County fair returns to full operation
LISBON — The Columbiana County Fair is back in the saddle again with a full fair for the 2021 season.
After significantly reducing operations last year due to the pandemic, the county fair is gearing up for nearly a week of wholesome family fun starting Aug. 2 until Aug. 8, according to fair secretary Michelle Crawford.
“We’re really excited to be back and have everything up and running. It was nice last year to be able to offer the kids something, but it’s nice to be able to offer everything again to everyone,” Crawford said. “It’s just a good, wholesome night out for the entire family.”
From the opening of the gates at 8 a.m. Monday until they close at 10 p.m. Sunday, each day is filled with food from several vendors, animals, 4-H projects and events that have become staples at the fair such as the combine derby and demo derby on Sunday. Crawford said she encourages anyone who wants a good seat for either event to buy presale tickets at the satellite office at the archway gate this week. Reserved seating is $5 per ticket and can be purchased until 3 p.m. Aug. 2.
Senior citizen day is Tuesday, and all senior citizens get in for free. Crawford said Tuesday is a great day for assisted living facilities to bring their residents for a day trip and asked that any interested groups call the administration office.
Anyone wishing to sponsor the fair can still do so and a few vendor spots are still available. For more information, call 330-424-5531.
