EL introduces new kind of summer camp

EAST LIVERPOOL — This year, East Liverpool is offering a new summer camp option for district students (Kindergarten through grade 12). Last week, district Superintendent Jonathan Ludwig announced the initiative in a letter that was sent home to parents and guardians, offering two separate sessions: June 7 through July 9 and July 12 through August 13.

Sessions will run from 8 a.m. to noon with students invited to attend one or both depending on their summer plans.

Students in Kindergarten through grads six will receive instruction and support in reading and engage in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities during the sessions, while students in grades seven through 12 after a variety of options, including ACT Prep, Garage Band, Credit Recovery, Outdoor Fitness, Life After High School, Community Garden, Leadership and Community Service.

Ludwig asks that students be registered before April 28 by either calling the child’s school or completing the registration form on the front page of the district website.
