EL school board votes on continuity in new year
EAST LIVERPOOL — The city school district’s board only spent a dozen minutes Thursday night, reorganizing for the new year.
Matt Handley and Mario Hernandez will continue as president and vice president of the body respectively, members decided in the first unanimous action of the night.
The board will continue to meet at 6 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month and continue to use The (East Liverpool) Review as its official newspaper, while compensation for board members still will be $125 per meeting.
Larry Walton abstained for a vote which made him the board’s state legislative liaison while all commission appointment will remain the same, explained Handley.
The school district’s tax budget was also adopted and will be filed to the Columbiana County Budget Commission.
East Liverpool school board members next will meet virtually at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21 via Google Meet.
