EL schools remain virtual into new year
EAST LIVERPOOL — City school students will remain on virtual learning districtwide into next year, Superintendent Jonathan Ludwig announced Tuesday.
The move is the result of Columbiana County recently hitting red status, meaning there are a high incidence of positive COVID test results coming back, as well as the announcement by Ludwig of seven COVID positive test results among its student body, teachers and bus drivers in the past week.
East Liverpool will remain on virtual learning districtwide through Jan. 18, 2021, which is the last day of the second quarter, according to an all-call issued to parents and guardians Tuesday.
“Our plan at this time is to return to in-person instruction on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021. A follow up survey will be sent out the first week of January to give remote learning students the option to return to in-person instruction or remain online. This means that students who are currently in-person will continue to sign into virtual courses according to their building schedule. Attendance will be recorded daily,” Ludwig said, adding that as a result a revised Potter Bag brunch schedule would be published on the district’s website with pickup and delivery options.
