The United Way of Southern Columbiana County is hosting Woofstock 2020 from 11a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at the parking lot of the Wellsville Save-A-Lot. Candy Faloon (left), executive director of the United Way, and Giada Giambroni are surrounded by their family’s dogs. The event includes a noon dog show, which will be judged by Wellsville Mayor Nancy Murray, Ray Paparodis and Jo Ann Bobby-Gilbert. Prizes will be awarded for a variety of categories, including best tricks and best behaved. There is no entry fee for the show. Wellsville K-9 handler Joe Saraniti and his canine partner Chief will perform a demonstration of their crime fighting skills. Representatives of the county dog pound will have pooches on hand for those interested in adoption. A basket auction, face painting, food and photo ops are available for a suggested donation. The event is a fundraiser for the United Way, which is requiring all its human attendees to wear masks and observe social distance. (Submitted photo)
