CTC awards contracts
LISBON — Summer renovations at the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center will now begin following a brief special meeting to award the contracts on Wednesday.
United Contractors of North East Ohio Inc. will provide the general contracting services for the project, coming in with the only bid below $300,000 out of five contractors which bid on the project. United Contractors bid $298,928.
JP Plumbing Inc. bid $70,500 for the plumbing contract, the lowest bid of four contractors. York Mahoning Mechanical Contracting Inc. outbid one other contractor for the HVAC bid at $92,590. Graft Electric Inc. bid $56,379, the lowest of four bids for the electrical work.
The total amount of the project will be $518,394 and will amount to the renovations of restrooms and the lobby area at the CCCTC this summer. The bids were opened on Monday morning.
During the brief meeting, Superintendent Chuck Adkins reported the sheriff’s office will be utilizing the facilities for some training soon.
The next regular meeting of the board of education will be at 7 p.m., July 21, which the board again intends to attend by the Zoom video conferencing tool.
