JFS services still available

Although Columbiana County Department of Job and Family Services is not open to the public during this time of COVID-19, it is still accessible and able to serve the residents of Columbiana County.

Children Services as well as Adult Protective Services are available 8-4 Monday through Friday and can be reached at 330-420-6600. After 4 p.m., reports can be made by calling 330-424-5715. We are still offering services, investigating reports of child abuse and neglect as well as offering ongoing services to those we serve.

Child Support Enforcement Agency can be reached at 330-424-7781. If wanting to make a payment at this time, you may do by mailing a personal check, money order or cashier’s check to: Ohio CSPS, P.O. Box 182372, Columbus, Ohio 43218-2372.

If mailing a payment in, include your name, SSN (optional) SETS case number (10 digit number that begins with a 7); court order number (if available) and the amount that should be applied to each case (if you have more than one)

Public Assistance programs can be accessed through 1-844-640-OHIO (6446) where you can apply, reapply, or makes changes for cash, food and medical assistance. You may also access services through www.benefits.ohio.gov to apply, reapply, or make changes for cash, food, and medical assistance. Several years ago, we joined 9 other counties in offering shared services to all 10 county’s persons of residence. There will be no pause in services due to that move.

Ohio Department of Job and Family Services has delayed recertifications for medical, SNAP, and cash assistance for April and May. If you were due for a recertification in April, that is extended to October. If in May, it is extended to November.

You must still report required changes. Address, phone number changes, decrease in income, new household members, births, deaths, SSI, retirement, survivors and disability insurance approvals, as well as Medicare approvals.

We have a drop box located in the front of building, off to the side of our main doors if you wish to drop documents off at our physical location. You may also email documents to Columbiana–JFS@jfs.ohio.gov. For case questions, you can call the customer services unit at 1.844.640.OHIO (6446)

The Senior Service Levy offers services to residents of Columbiana County that are age 60 and over. You can call 330.420.6695 to obtain information pertaining to those services.
