EAST LIVERPOOL — Heritage Thermal Services’ Earth Day collection of household hazardous wastes, old electronics and pharmaceuticals scheduled for April 25 has been postponed. This popular environmental event will be rescheduled later in the year if conditions allow.
Since the program began in 1997, which is provided free of charge to the East Liverpool community, Heritage employees have collected more than 248 tons of household hazardous wastes for proper recycling and disposal. The collection is offered in conjunction with other cleanups for a community-wide event known as CitySweep.
The company’s environmental grants will be awarded to successful applicants later in the year. Since grants were first distributed in 1998, local non-profit and school groups have received more than $101,000 to help fund their respective environmental projects.
Heritage encourages everyone to stay safe by washing hands properly, maintaining appropriate social spacing and other necessary precautions.
