Liverpool Township releases road wish list

EAST LIVERPOOL — More than seven miles of Liverpool Township roads will be chipped and sealed in 2020 if trustees have their way.

During the meeting this week, trustees approved the final list, which includes portions of Stagecoach Road, Fisher Road, Broadway Circle and Carolina Avenue for submission to Columbiana County Engineer Bert Dawson’s office.

According to trustee Keith Burke, there are a lot of small roads on the list. The township has county employees for three days, so if they run out of time, they will do rest – including some in Dixonville – next year.

Work tweaking the township administration building continues, according to Dennis Giambroni, who received a quote of $3,445 to make the basement into a storage/evidence room. They look to move forward possible within two months, after soliciting bids on cleanup and freshening up the unused space under the administrative side of the building before converting it.

Trustees also approved payment of $46,043.63 in bills.

Trustees Burke and Mike Bahen reported on their recent trip for a conference in Columbus, where they learned that due to the Medicare age of all three trustees, they may be able to enjoy some savings on insurance. They also talked about replacing their 20-year old dump truck that has served as a backup vehicle.

The township’s next regular meeting is 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24 at the township building.
