Judge refigures, man released

LISBON — After recalculating the jail credit of Justin M. Lamp, the Summitville man recently convicted of a misdemeanor charge after failing to stop for a sheriff’s detective, Common Pleas Court Judge Scott Washam ordered Lamp released.

Lamp, 41, Foundry Hill Road, Summitville, was sentenced on Wednesday to the maximum 180 days in jail for failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, after a jury found him guilty.

At the sentencing hearing, Assistant County Prosecutor Tammie Riley Jones and defense attorney Jennifer Gorby had disagreed with the amount of days Lamp should be credited with and at the hearing, Washam had credited him with 157 days served and 23 more to serve.

In an entry filed in court on Thursday, Washam said he now has calculated Lamp as having credit for 181 days as of Wednesday and ordered him released from custody of the county jail.
