CHESTER, W.Va. — The Chester Police Department recently participated in No Shave November alongside the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and the Weirton Police Department. The participating officers and deputies toss out their razors for the month of November for charity. Together, these Hancock County Law Enforcement officers have raised over $45,000 over the past six years for various charities.

This year’s charity of choice was UPMC Children’s of Hospital of Pittsburgh. The Chester Police Department’s three participants raised $900 this year with the help of some very generous Chester based businesses. The total amount raised by all participants was an impressive $5,780.19.

The department expressed gratitude to Chester VFW Post 6450, Chester Volunteer Fire Department, Hancock County Savings Bank, Attorney Joseph Ludovici, True North, LLP, First Choice Community Federal Credit Union, Davis Brothers Pharmacy, Hot Shots Bar and Grill, and Chaney’s Service Station for their support.

The departments are continuing to collect donations throughout the month of December with proceeds going towards the Hancock County Shop with a Cop Program. You may bring it or mail it to the Chester Police Department, 600 Indiana Ave. #1 Chester, W.Va. 26034, and they will make sure the program receives it.
