The City of Chester held it’s annual “Make It Shine” clean-up day this past Saturday, May 18, at the Chester Upper End Memorial Playground. This cleanup was held in conjunction with the State of West Virginia’s REAP (Rehabilitation Environmental Action Plan) and was hosted by the Chester Beautification Committee. There were 33 volunteers who worked on painting the pavilion and playground equipment, mulching around the playground equipment, landscaping and tree planting, and replenishing sand in the sand box. Lunch was provided by the Chester Arts and Garden Club and supplies for this clean-up were provided by the Chester Beautification Committee. (Submitted photo)
