The 1872, 21,000-pound, 103-foot steel-arch bridge that once spanned the Middle Fork of the Little Beaver Creek now sits in place spanning the ravine at the north end of the county fairgrounds, connecting the main fairgrounds with the campgrounds off Saltwell Road. It took the giant crane only about six minutes to swing the historic bridge into place early Thursday morning. The next step is to add the plank flooring to the structure which will be dedicated closer to the county fair opening at the end of July. (Photo by Patti Schaeffer)
